More startups will receive more investments at Prosperity CUP Kyrgyzstan

A Demo Day and awards ceremony for the finalists of the 10-day incubation Prosperity Cup Kyrgyzstan took place in Bishkek, where over 70 applications were submitted from startup teams from all over Kyrgyzstan. Previously, applications from all over the republic with innovative and digital ideas were selected on a competitive basis. As part of the Prosperity Cup hackathon program, co-funded by the European Union, speakers were AR experts and invited entrepreneurs, each team had mentors and personal sessions. At the opening of the event, the founders of large local and international startups gave motivational speeches to the participants and shared their success stories. Among the startups presented:

  • educational projects,
  • food delivery application,
  • for preschool institutions,
  • dental direction
  • and many others.

Hans Farnhammer, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic, highlighted the following in his opening remarks: “The EU is a strong partner for creative industries and innovation in the SME sector in Kyrgyzstan. Young creative entrepreneurs are the future for job creation and prosperity.” By the finals, after the selection, half of the teams remained, which made a pitch to the investment committee in the fight for capital investments in the amount of $10,000 and above. As a result, the selection committee determined the following winners:

Prosperity Cup Kyrgyzstan is aimed at working with youth and youth innovative and IT startups in Kyrgyzstan. Hackathon participants, selected by application, received training and, with the support of trackers, worked to improve their business ideas. This incubation was carried out as part of the Accelerate Prosperity ASIA project. The AP Asia project is funded by the European Union and the Aga Khan Foundation. The project is aimed at developing entrepreneurship and improving the economic well-being of the rural population of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The hackathon is also supported by partners: Makers, World of Education, ProKg, coffee shop “Gennady Utrechkoff”, “Institute of Youth Development”, “Shoro”, “Coca-Cola Bishkek Bottlers”, “Innovation Center”, group of IT companies Codify, school professions of the future “Sphere”, the coffee shop chain Bellagio Coffee, the design studio Creative Tart, NB fit, the travel company “Kettik”, the coffee shop chain “Bublik” and the confectionery house “Kulikovsky”.
